Talisman Red's College Softball Computer Ratings

Division I

The overall Rating is a blend of two elements:

• The Points rating, which allows for score predictions. If you would like to predict the score of any hypothetical matchup, just subtract. Make sure to adjust for home field, which is probably about 0.5 runs.
• Another element that considers strength of schedule and how recently games were played (giving more weight to more recent results). This shows up in the "BCS" column -- it is a lot like the "politically correct" computer systems that were not allowed to consider margin of victory when the Bowl Championship Series was around.
